Career Description 

This is the science of keeping large industrial equipment operating in optimal conditions, particularly the automated systems. Automated systems are sophisticated, computer-controlled groups of machines and sensors that can accomplish tasks without much human intervention. Automated systems can be found everywhere, from a semiconductor fabrication site to a water treatment plant to a department store distribution center. Industrial Operations Technologists are especially valuable employees because they understand how all the parts work together and can keep the system running.
 
 

Employment Outlook 

Industrial Operations Technologists monitor every aspect of the workplace, from safety to air temperature and humidity to environmental compliance. These electromechanical technicians control huge air conditioning systems, particle-free clean rooms, and even high-voltage electrical systems or sensitive controllers. They are paid well because they have the practical know-how to solve all kinds of problems.

In Arizona, Industrial Operations Technologists earn an hourly range of $13.29 to $30.78 for an annual salary range of $27,650 to $64,130.
